Truckee River Residence

Green home built to LEED standards by Dale Cox Architects

Truckee River Residence

Reno, Nevada

Built to LEED standards, this 11,000 square foot, one-story Reno residence features some of the latest advances in green building. The factory pre-cut heavy timber framing system minimized onsite waste, while the reclaimed lumber siding was finished with a maintenance-free Living Finish stain. A ground source heat pump provides eco-conscious heating and cooling; the dual-pane windows and low-flow toilets, faucets and showerheads add to the home’s green features.

Chinese Herb Shop

Chinese Herb Shop

Historic downtown truckee, California

Dating back to the 1880s, this 1,600 square foot shop in historic Truckee, CA, was in serious disrepair. The building was deconstructed and reassembled with the same or similar materials, many of which were upgraded to be more energy efficient. The 5,000 square foot offices next door, which were previously a garage, were redesigned and fronted with brick. Dale Cox Architects won numerous awards for its work on the building.
